Inspired Minds Art Show
I was reminded of the SOPAC-Inspired Minds show in South Orange, New Jersey, I think the day before, by a coworker. I went and saw the show last year, and this year I was so close to not going. I’m so thankful for my friend Angela. She tends to be available at the drop of a dime lately and attended the show with me. If she weren’t available, I would not have attended. My husband was under the weather, I was extremely tired after work, but i am so happy i went.
I personally left inspired and touched. I’ve already committed to finding ways to get back to creating - and admittingly, I still haven’t completed my skeleton drawing.
This is the work of Obenewaa Frimpomaa, winner of the 3rd annual Paul Bartrick Emerging Artist Award.
We arrived at the beginning of the reception where a speech was given about why art is so important in the world. I’m so happy I was able to capture it. Obenewaa’s work was familiar in the sense of answering or having an inquiry. This year I was able to teach AP Graphic Design. Students had to answer a specific question and share sketches and processes of their work. This can be found on AP College Board.
